#191 Witness of time

[Taxus bacata - Yew tree. Guadarrama Mountains, Rascafria - Madrid]

This miracle is between 1400 and 1500 years old.
I apologize because on my pictures doesn't look as wonderful and stunning as is in live. I wanted to post them on Wednesday for green theme, but I don't know why I forgot it! :'(

After a long, hard way uphill... some hours and so much heat we get to the yew forest. It's a small and magic place, with big trees, all of them very old... And this is the king. The energy on this place is so special! Gosh!
I would have liked to hug the tree ... but I had to do it from the distance: yews are poisonous!!

The king of yews has seen the deer drinking in the creek each evening at dusk. He has heard the beating of wings of the eagles for generations. He has been a silent witness for many winters. And he has resisted, he's still standing after having told the moon all his worries over a million nights.

Would you know what he would tell us if he could talk?
For me it's so clear...
Why do you do this to our world?

Think about it.

Jarvo Wonderful pictures. It's fabulous to think that something can live that long. What would it tell us? "Summer, winter, summer, winter, summer, winter...." ;-)
