[Certhia brachydactyla - Short-toed Treecreeper. La Herreria Forest, El Escorial - Madrid]

I want to introduce you these little birds. They are threatened by the abusive use of pesticides, fires and destruction and transformation of their habitat, which prevents them to find adults trees where make their nests.

I was very lucky to find this family, playing and feeding on the trees. Do you know they climb the branches by little jumps, drawing a spiral and leaning on the tail?

Two adults (I guess they were the parents) were feeding these four pups, while they didn't stop to scream and jump from one branch to another.

I always wonder if you're already able to fly and run around, why not look for your own food?
I suppose that Nature has its reasons!
