Singapore is not proactive in recycling. Thumbs down.
Japan is proactive in recycling. Thumbs up.
But they make recycling a painful process for residents like me. So that neutralises the thumbs up.
Australia is proactive in recycling and it is easy because residents are provided with a yellow recycling bin and a green rubbish bin. 2 thumbs up for Australia! Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy!
The day started with Mentor teaching me Japanese, followed by the both of us coming up with the text / titles for the trailer of the upcoming movie Sguy and the Family Stone. It was pretty interesting because we had to use black slang/language like “mo”, “ride”, etc.
After lunch, I was given a list of companies from China where I had to find their official homepage. It was a painful process because it was in the traditional Chinese characters.
Again at 10pm, I was not the last to leave the office. Mentor and the CEO were still having a meeting and I felt quite bad leaving.
Highlights of the day
I told Mentor about Russell Crow using the word “fuck” liberally on national TV and apparently, it is alright to use the word “fuck” on TV but not the exact word in Japanese.
Our team had to come up with ideas for a new character to be introduced in the animation series. Each of us will soon have to pitch our ideas and designs that would appeal to 6 - 11 years old kids. We also had to bear in mind that the character would be developed as a toy so the design had to satisfy these requirements. This is going to be fun.
I may have to sign up for a Facebook account. This is strictly due to work because so many of you have Facebook accounts. Facebook may be another avenue where we could promote our company and works. Apparently MySpace, Friendster and Facebook is not popular in Japan. I believe I am doing a basic media research? Damn, I should have attended Soon Soon’s lecture.
